Shhhh….I’m a CPA. I know that probably doesn’t sound super exciting, but I work for myself so it means that I’ve spent the last 20 years going client to client meeting new people, learning new skills and helping on all sorts of projects. It’s so much more fun than it sounds. And yes, I’ve learned a fair bit about running a business because of this.
In 2016, my daughter left for college and I found myself with too much free time and no real social life. I had been good friends with so many people I saw through my daughter’s activities…and all of a sudden found myself at a loss. It was a pretty hard time. Anyone else found yourself stuck like that before? I’m sorry if you have. I had been stuck before when I first became a stay at home mom and had no friends & no one to talk to except the baby. Love my kids but I need a life for me too! 🙂
Anyway, that’s when a friend talked to me about her online biz. I was intrigued because the company was very successful (we are now #1 ranked in the industry!) and definitely seemed poised for success. I love to shop online & think ecommerce is the future. I am NOT a salesman and I AM AN INTROVERT but I do LIKE TO SHARE WITH PEOPLE ABOUT STUFF I LOVE . and I’m . always open . to learning new things! So I closed my eyes and imagined the .worst that could happen from trying this & it didn’t seem that bad. Then I . imgained what the best could be – more fun, friends, encouragement, and . of course, money! So I DID IT!
I’ve learned a lot! I have made some mistakes (well a lot!) and had some success too (yipppeee!). Let me just say that I am not special, just coachable & willing to try & fail and try again. If I can do this, YOU CAN TOO! I became sold on how having your own biz can really help SO MANY PEOPLE GET UNSTUCK – financial, purpose, community and more. Now I LOVE to empower others to take on their own businesses so they can have the freedom to choose the life they want. How fun is that?!
I live in Plano, Texas – a suburb of Dallas, with my husband, Paul, our cute Havenese dog, Max, and our youngest son, who is a senior in high school. We also have 2 kids studying at the University of Arkansas (Woo Pig!).
In my spare time, I love going on date nights with my husband (empty nest training), traveling, organizing, reading, learning new stuff, going to lunch & on walks with friends and studying the Bible.
